WordPress support for the site you already have
Updates, backups and a monitoring plugin keep a site alive. They do not keep it improving. My support plans add what most maintenance packages leave out: a senior developer who knows your site and has monthly time to fix, speed up and extend it. They are also the way to hand me a site you have inherited.
Lost your developer? Start with a takeover
If a developer or agency left, I begin with a safe takeover rather than guesses:
- Secure access: hosting, domain, WordPress admin and any third-party accounts, with a list of who has access to what.
- Backup first: a full copy before anything is touched, and a staging site.
- Document what is there: theme, plugins, custom code, integrations, scheduled tasks and known problems.
- Stabilise: updates, security checks and fixes for anything urgent.
- Plan: a prioritised list of what to improve, as a technical assessment if you want it in writing.
What a plan includes
- Core, theme and plugin updates, tested on staging before they reach the live site
- Security monitoring and backups you can actually restore
- Uptime and performance checks, with speed fixes when they slip
- Monthly developer time for changes, fixes and small features
- A named developer who replies within one business day
What I check every month
- Which core, theme and plugin updates are pending, and which of them are risky for your site
- Backups: that they ran, and that a restore actually works
- Uptime, server response time and Core Web Vitals trends
- Security events: failed logins, new admin accounts, changed files
- Forms, email delivery and checkout paths on shops
- Search Console errors that point at broken pages or blocked content
You get a short monthly note: what was done, what I found and what I recommend next. No dashboard to decode.
How a takeover differs from a normal plan
A takeover is a one-off piece of work with its own fixed price, because the unknowns are at the start: nobody is sure what is installed, which custom code exists or who has access. Once the site is documented and stable, it moves onto a monthly plan where the work is predictable. Agencies often use the same process for inherited client sites.
Common problems I fix
- The site broke after an update, or shows a critical error or white screen
- Pages load slowly or the admin is sluggish
- Forms or emails stopped working, or go to spam
- The site was hacked, or you are not sure it was not
- Nobody knows how a plugin or custom feature works
- You need small changes often and do not want to brief an agency each time
Why monthly developer time matters
Most maintenance plans only cover updates and backups. A site that gets a few hours of a developer’s attention every month stays fast, stays secure and keeps improving, and small problems are fixed before they become emergencies. If you do not need the time in a given month, we adjust the plan.
Price
Support plans start at $190 a month, including developer time, and scale with the number of hours and the size of the site. Takeovers are quoted as a fixed fee. For urgent problems see emergency support and hacked-site recovery.
What is not included
Hosting fees, premium plugin licences and large new builds are separate. I do not offer 24/7 cover; I reply within one business day, and urgent issues reported before 5 PM Cairo time are handled the same day.

Frequently asked questions
My developer disappeared. What do I do first?
Secure access to your hosting, domain and WordPress admin, take a full backup and do not update anything yet. Then bring in a developer for a safe takeover: documentation, staging and a plan.
What does a support plan cost?
From $190 a month, including monthly developer time. The price depends on the size of the site and the hours you need.
Do you respond to emergencies?
I reply within one business day. Urgent issues reported before 5 PM Cairo time are handled the same day. I do not offer 24/7 cover.
Can you maintain a site built by someone else?
Yes. Most of my support clients arrive with a site someone else built. I start with a takeover so I know exactly what is in it.
Do updates ever break the site?
They can, which is why updates are tested on a staging copy first and you always have a restorable backup.
Tell me about the site you need looked after
Tell me about the site and what happened to the last developer. I start with a safe takeover.
- Site address, hosting provider and who holds the logins
- What has gone wrong or keeps going wrong
- How many hours of changes you expect each month
- Whether the site takes payments or captures leads
